FSAC-KK-11888: a partial sub-adult skeleton.NHMUK R 16421: another, potentially larger, specimen.The specimen is currently held in the Milano Natural History Museum. MSNM V4047: a very large specimen that has been recovered from the Kem Kem fossil beds, estimated to be 15-16 meters long.They are not yet described and do not match any spines discovered near them. Spines from an indeterminate Spinosauridae have been recovered from the Kem Kem beds. The animal had a crocodilian-like elongated face, large, strong arms, a long body, and an elongated and flat, dense tail. The most well known anatomical feature of this animal is the elongated spines on its back. The current estimations for Spinosaurus suggest a length between 15 and 16 meters and an estimated weight between 6.5 to 7.5 tonnes or even more. Spinosaurus was a large species of theropod that belongs to the family of Spinosauridae and a member of the inner subfamily, Spinosaurinae (The subfamily includes Irritator, Siamosaurus & Oxalaia). A documentary by National Geographic briefly shows pictures of the holotypic crania and postcrania that differ from known images. The name Spinosaurus means spine lizard in Latin. In 1915, the original remains were destroyed in World War II by a bombing on the museum it was held in. This species remains have been officially discovered and named in Egypt by paleontologist Ernst Stromer. Differences in the jaw may be due to a different angle.
